The actress, who was a cover girl for Vogue magazine, lives today in Beverly Hills along with Samantha and Olivia. They were married for only eight years, and separated for 20 years, but Ann Turkel is still struggling to come to terms with the death of her husband, Richard Harris. Turkel, who was raised in Manhattan and comes from an Jewish, middle class family, attended both the Neighborhood Playhouse and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy at the age of 16 years old. Ann Turkel, who is well-known throughout the world for her accomplishments in television, film and in business, has had a very interesting and diverse career. Ann was born and raised within Manhattan. Her love of entertainment has not diminished. Her first dance lesson was when she was five and continued her artistic studies all through the college. Her inspiration for her artistic talents is her mother. Ann spent her childhood studying dancing, acting and singing. Ann aged sixteen years old, studied at the Neighborhood Playhouse (formerly the Musical Theatre Academy) as well as the Musical Theatre Academy under some top acting instructors within the city. They include Sandy Meisner & Philip Burton. Ann, along with some of her high-school classmates, formed a school rock and roll band. It was in Stockbridge, Massachusetts she also performed in the summer at Berkshire Playhouse performing plays like The Pajama Game and West Side Story. Ann was first noticed when she was performing at an event for Vogue's fashion in her group. Diana Vreeland, the editor in chief at Vogue Magazine, requested that Ann photograph her first Vogue magazine cover in just several days. Ann was one of the best-known models in America, appearing as a cover model in leading magazines such as Vogue Bazaar or Cosmopolitan. Ann made her international debut with Europe as well as Japan after modeling for Max Factor Revlon.
