Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. Avery Sunshine combines soul gospel jazz and R&B in a distinct combination. Sunshine has appeared on Broadway and at the Democratic National Convention and in European festivals and clubs. Sunshine's her name as Denise White. The singer hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her career in music by singing and playing piano at church. After attending Spellman College, Atlanta she embarked on her musical path in Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice, Stalk You the House, was only released in Japan. It's been re-mixed several times, and has become a staple of her live show. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack for The Fighting Temptations. In 2005 she was hired to be the main keyboardist for Tyler Perry's stage play Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday was the Grammy and Tony Award winner who approached her in 2007 to serve as the Director of Choral for Dreamgirls a theatre production at Atlanta's National Black Arts Festival. Sunshine gained national recognition in her four performances during 2008's Democratic National Convention. She got invited to perform in the Obama administration's 2008 inauguration.

Trevor Morris, an SCDC inmate was killed after being involved in a dispute with another inmate. Trevor Morris had served 10 years of prison and was killed by stabbing wounds. The incident happened in South Carolina Department of Corrections, Columbia, South Carolina. Trevor Morris had been 27 years old when he died.
