Winona Ryder - Winona Lauro Horowitz - was born at Winona Minnesota. The parents named her Winona for the town she grew up in. Michel Horowitz was her father as well as Cynthia Palmer, his mother was both an author as well as editors. Ryder believes she is Jewish has a connection to Ryder's Jewish father.
